Bumble is a great way to meet fun and beautiful people. But how do you get them on a date?
Easy. By following the steps from this article, you’ll be able to go from chatting with your Bumble match to meeting up within a few days.
In this article:More...Step 1: Build the right profile
Know what you’re looking for
If you’re like most guys, you struggle to find Bumble matches who are into the same things as you.
And the worst thing is, you find out after days of texting or perhaps even as late as on the first date.
What a waste of time.
Here’s how you can attract the type of person you’re looking for.
Build the right profile.
Everything on your Bumble profile tells something about you. Put every prompt, photo, and factoid together, and you’ve got a story that says what you’re after.
Do you seem like a well-put-together guy who likes animals, reading, and long walks on the beach? Then she figures you’re searching for commitment.
Do you seem like an adventurous guy, who likes to travel, be silly, and try new things? Then she reckons you’re in pursuit of excitement. So once you know what you’re after, be sure to create a profile that expresses your intentions. For more guidance, check out my next article:

Highlight your personality
Showing off your looks is definitely important, but most people forget this EXTREMELY important fact.
Looks aren’t everything.
In fact, the majority of your photos should reflect your personality.
No one wants to go out on a date with a cute but mute mannequin. She wants to go out with an attractive guy who’s also fun, kind, and interesting.
But if all your Bumble photos are trying to show you looking your best, fully focused on your looks, then she has NO CLUE who you are.
The better you show off your personality, the more interesting you become, and the more matches you’ll get.
So limit the photos that only show off your looks. Aim for two or three.
The rest of your dating photos should give her a little peek into your everyday life. The closer you get to seeming genuine, the better.
Use your bio and prompts to fill in the gaps
No matter how hard you try, your Bumble photos will fail to sum up the wonderful intricacies of your personality.
That’s okay. It’d be weird if you could perfectly explain who you are in a handful of pictures.
To make yourself more well-rounded and interesting, you want to add what’s missing through your bio and prompts.
What most important aspects of your character do your photos not show?
Use your bio and prompts to fill in those gaps.
Do you want to express your playfulness? Tell a joke. Do you want to share your joy for reading? Write down your favorite books. Or do you eat cereal with water? Apologize profusely for being a weirdo.

Step 2: Start with a bang
Success on Bumble starts by setting yourself apart from the rest. Here are my best three tips to have a fun conversation starting from the first message.
Set the tone
Even though women send the first message on Bumble, it typically doesn’t do us much good.
Because the messages we’ll see 99,2565812364% of the time are:
“Hi,” or “How are you?” and their thousands of variations.
What you absolutely never want to do in these circumstances is answer back normally.
Why?
She’s probably had a bajillion dudes reply, “Hey to you!” or “Good thanks. You?” And you don’t want to put yourself in the same category as those average Joe’s. She doesn’t date those.
If you want to make her like you, you want to be different. Give her something new to get her emotional juices flowing.
I recommend pretending like she said nothing, and send her a unique, playful icebreaker.
That way you’ll put her smile on her face. And make her excited to keep texting you.
Separate yourself from the pack
An easy way to ruin your Bumble success is to send generic messages.
People LOVE novelty, so to stand out on Bumble you need to be a little different. Whether that’s having great photos or texting in a way that’s fun and flirtatious, it has to be unique.
The average guy on Bumble is sweet, polite, and predictable. A people pleaser. So if YOU want to make an exemplary first impression, you need to be creative, playful, and/or slightly challenging.
You need to stand out.
Focus on fun
A common mistake guys make on Bumble is “learning” about someone.
Let me explain.
They try to seriously get to know someone by going on a serious fact finding mission, which makes the entire conversation boring as heck.
Bumble is not so much about getting to know each other as much as it’s a vibe check. It’s about having fun, light-hearted banter. Discovering each other’s life stories is for the date. This means you shouldn’t be trying to have an interview over text.
So keep the start of your Bumble conversation fun and refreshing and she’ll crave speaking to you.

You’ve sent a great first Bumble message, so here’s what you need to do next to capture her heart.
Create intrigue.
Stop unattractive texting habits
There are still too many guys making certain texting mistakes that turn a girl off.
It could be that your spelling and grammar need work, or you end every message with a ‘haha,’ trying to force the conversation to be fun.
And if you’ve seen any of my Pimp of Simp videos you’ll know what I’m talking about.
So here are a few rules to follow when texting on Bumble so she doesn’t lose interest.
- No unnecessary emojis and laughter.
- No relentless stream of compliments.
- No talking forever. Lead the conversation forward.
- No abbreviations for every word.
- No boring questions (how are you, what’s up etc).

Follow those and you’ll never experience girls reacting like this picture to your messages.
Act like a prize
There’s one critical reason why girls lose interest in a guy.
Too much interest, too soon.
A big reason why women lose interest in a guy is because he’s showing too much interest in relation to what she’s shown him. Said differently: it’s a turn-off to give lots of attention to a Bumble match who’s done little to earn your admiration.
If she’s still getting to know you while you’re already proposing and planning out your future wedding, then you’ll scare her off.
The better alternative? See yourself as a prize.
That way you won’t instantly be sold on her until she proves that she might be a good fit.
So check your compatibility before falling for her. Is she fun? Do your values align? Does she meet your height requirement of 276 cm?
This will make you much more chill and, therefore, more attractive to her.
Flirt
If there’s one skill guys are notoriously bad at, it’s flirting.
And you may be shocked to hear this…
But flirting is the difference between guys who have success with women and guys who don’t.
It’s the difference between a ladies undergarments being wetter than Hurricane Sarah or dryer than the Sarah-ha desert. (God DAMN that may have been one of most cleverest lines ever).
So what is flirting?
Flirting is playfully exchanging teasing remarks for fun. Sometimes our comments may contain a grain of truth, but they’re never designed to hurt someone’s feelings.
We flirt to enjoy ourselves.
So text her in a way that is fun, teasing, challenging, and sparks emotions. It’s what creates connections between two romantic partners.
And if you’re not sure exactly how, I suggest reading my next article to brush up on those skills:
Its psychologically irresistible to ignore. I call it the Clickbait-Opener. And I made a free video with screen-shot examples on how to use it.

Once you have her interest, it’s time to move things forward. Here’s how.
Ask her out when there’s interested
Waiting too long to plan a date means losing her interest.
The longer you wait, the bigger the odds that the flirtatious spark will die out. After all, someone can only be excited about texting a stranger on the internet for so long.
But you can’t ask her out too early either. So what’s a guy to do?
Look for signs of interest.
Any of the following are good indicators she’s ready for you to ask her out:
- Lot’s of ‘hahahas’ or ‘lols.’
- She’s texting lots in your Bumble conversation.
- She’s asking you questions.
- She’s flirting back with you .
Once you see she’s having a good time, she’s likely ready to go on a date with you.
When in doubt, suggest a video or phone call
Can’t meet for a week or two and worried the spark with your Bumble match will die out?
That’s okay, there are ways to keep the spark alive and roaring.
One of my favorite ways is to leave voice notes, or even call.
Giving up on someone you’ve only exchanged texts with is easy. But once you can put a voice or face to a name, then everything becomes more real. Plus, it can give you an idea of whether or not you two click.
Not a fan of ringing someone up? Then I suggest exchanging Instagram. That way she can see more of your life and feel that you’re a real person. Now you’ll become more than just another Bumble match.
Don’t be pushy
Sometimes she might not be ready to meet up so quickly.
That’s totally fine. Pushing for a date when she’s pulling away will only make her lose more interest. After all, she’s not doing anything worthwhile to deserve your attention.
Chasing her now shows how desperate you are for her attention. Talk about red flags.
So what’s your best move?
Mirror her behavior. Keep in touch, staying warm and playful, but turn down your investment.
Instead, focus most of your energy on someone who’s more enthusiastic.

You’re almost done going from a Bumble match to a date.
Follow these things to cross that finish line, Champ!
Reread the conversation
Here’s how to really impress a girl on a Bumble date.
Most guys try to start the conversation from scratch once they meet up. Sometimes even asking the same questions they did on Bumble. They don’t really stand out or keep the good feelings going.
Here’s what you do instead.
Reread or recall information about her on the date.
Recalling details makes conversation go more smoothly and shows her you’ve been paying attention. This gives you mega brownie points.
AND if there’s a lull in the conversation, you’ll have some proven material to fall back on, bringing your conversation back to being fun and interesting.
TextGod coach (and P.I.M.P.) Justin and I actually discussed this in a YouTube video along with 5 other ways to show interest on a date.
So check it out!
Have a plan
Here’s the best way to reduce date anxiety.
Planout what the date will look like.
The better you know what your evening will look like, the more comfortable and relaxed you’ll both be. This makes things much easier to relax and have fun.
And if you want your date to go really well, remember this:
Doing a few activities (like visiting a few bars and a park) is almost always better than doing one single thing, (like just doing cocktails).
So don’t just plan to meet up at a random bar. Scope out the area beforehand and figure out exactly what you’ll do that evening.
The more date nerves you have, the more I recommend nailing the date details down.
Slowly escalate
Here’s how you can safely kiss your Bumble match on your date.
Slowly build up sexual tension.
Ideally, you’ll start building this tension from the start by giving her a warm hug. From that point onward, you want to sprinkle in moments of strong eye contact, light touches, and flirty comments.
If you receive positive feedback from her (she doesn’t flinch / she returns the favor), then you know she’s into it. This means that you can get even a bit more intimate.
If the feedback is negative or neutral (she flinches / doesn’t seem open to it), then it’s better to relax or pull back and try again a bit later.
Remember fella’s, you lead the race, but she sets the pace.
Holy Tip:
Everyone moves at a different pace. What feels comfortable to one person may not be comfortable for the other.
So just because you once made out with a girl 20 minutes into the first date, doesn’t mean that every girl will be as receptive.
So never assume what’s normal. Even with a girl you already know. Always go forward slowly and confidently, then see how she reacts.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the right time to ask for a date?
When she’s showing interest. Although you never really want to ask if she’s interested. It’s always better to assume she likes you and suggest something, assuming she wants to go.
How do I suggest meeting up without it being awkward or needy?
Being needy is usually more about how you say something vs what you say. But to ensure there’s no neediness or awkwardness, then ask her out with confidence.
- Would you maybe want to grab drinks with me sometime? If that’s not too much to ask? 🙈
- Want to grab margaritas and tacos on Thursday? I know a wicked spot.
See the difference? Be decisive and confident when asking her out and there’ll never be any neediness or awkwardness.
And worst case scenario, if the girl seems hesitant or reluctant to meet up, then check out my article below covering that exact scenario.
How do I make the first date go well?
A lot can go wrong on a first date, especially when we’re all trying to make a good first impression.
Although many tips and strategies can improve the success of your first date, none are as important as this one:
Don’t try to impress your date and focus on fun conversation.
Generally, you want to start with light topics. Such as what you did today and commenting on your surroundings. As your conversation continues, you can slowly ask more personal questions, as long as you also share enough about yourself and lighten the mood with fun and flirty remarks.
