Most guys don’t realize they’re killing attraction before the first date even happens. Not because they’re boring, but because they’re people pleasing without noticing it.
If you want women to actually feel something when they text you, this is the habit you need to break today. You’ll learn all about it in this article.
In this article:More...What is people pleasing?
People pleasing is when you put someone else’s comfort, approval or feelings above your own, even when it costs you. It’s not kindness, it’s actually fear in a polite outfit.
Why this matters
People pleasing quietly ruins your chances with women you actually want. When you’re focused on being liked, you stop being yourself. And when you stop being yourself, she can’t feel anything for you. No tension, no contrast, no spark. You become polite instead of attractive, and predictable instead of memorable.
I've put together 10 Texts that always work. Copy-paste lines that instantly attract her and make her crave your attention. They work and they are free.

You’re not people pleasing just because. There’s a pattern behind it, and once you see the pattern, the behavior makes a lot more sense. Most guys don’t even notice when they slip into pleasing mode, they just feel a mix of pressure, nerves and wanting things to go well. But underneath that, there are a few very specific beliefs that push you into over-giving and over-agreeing.
Here’s what’s going on:
- You want to be liked.
When you really like a girl, you try to avoid anything that might make her pull away, So you become extra agreeable. - You’re scared of saying the wrong thing.
Instead of being yourself, you start performing. You say what you think she wants to hear, not what you actually think. - You learned that safety keeps people around.
Maybe you grew up in an environment where you had to adapt to keep the peace. Now, in adulthood, you soften your opinions, avoid tension and overcompensate. - You don’t see your own value.
When you’re unsure of your worth, you tend to overcompensate. You assume you have to earn her interest by giving more, trying harder or proving you’re “different from other guys”. - You think attraction starts with being liked.
You assume that if she likes you as a person, she’ll feel attracted to you. But those are to different things. A girl can like you and feel zero attraction.
Its psychologically irresistible to ignore. I call it the Clickbait-Opener. And I made a free video with screen-shot examples on how to use it.

If you’re afraid to rock the boat, you gravitate towards keeping the peace and being nice. Nothing wrong with that. Except that women will end up liking you in the same way they like a golden retriever: fun, but not sexy.
Here’s what people pleasing does when you’re on a dating app.
- You build a safe profile.
People pleasing makes you create a profile that tries to appeal to everyone. You end up looking and sounding generic. No edge, no personality. Women swipe past because nothing stands out. - You send flat texts.
When you avoid saying anything real, your conversations feel polite but boring. She feels no spark, no tension, no sense of who you really are. - You start chasing.
When you want her approval, you reply too fast, double-text, over-explain or try to impress. This makes you feel needy. - You wait for her to make a move.
You don’t set the tone, you don’t suggest a date, you just follow her lead.
She reads that as insecurity, not kindness. - You seem like every other ‘nice guy’.
Online dating is crowded. People pleasing turns you into one more soft, predictable message in her inbox. - She can’t feel attraction because she can’t feel you
If you smooth out every message to make sure she likes it, you hide your edges, opinions, and energy that make you attractive in the first place.
Tldr; people pleasing prevents attraction because it’s focused on being the same as the girl you’re trying to seduce. But seduction isn’t about being the same, it’s about being different.
Women are attracted to men who have a different opinion, taste, preference, vibe, and personality than her. Why? Because now she has something to be curious about.

People pleasing isn’t who you are, it’s something you learned to survive. It kept things smooth and people close. But it’s not without cost. You become afraid to speak your truth and you start living to avoid rejection. Not to mention, you will have little success with desirable women.
Fortunately, you can change the pleasing pattern. Here’s how.
1. Notice the signs
The first step is catching yourself in the act. Most people pleasing happens before you say anything. You edit your words, soften your tone or hold back a truth because you want a chill reaction.
Recognize the moments when you play it safe. At first, you’ll be a bit slow. You won’t notice your cringy self-censorship until way after. But as you get more practice, you’ll eventually catch your people pleasing act before you act on it.
This is when you want to take a deep breath and give yourself some space. That gap is where real change begins, because it gives you room to choose instead of react.
2. Don’t be so quick to text back
People pleasers tend to act fast. You reply instantly because you don’t want to disappoint, or because silence makes you nervous. That’s why you want to slow down. Just so that you have enough space for your body to relax.
Next time your crush texts you, take a break. Stare at the window, take a deep breath, make some tea, whatever. Just relax your nervous system. The you give yourself a moment to think, “What would I like to say if I didn’t care about losing her?”
This is a small habit with a big effect. Because you’ll start sending texts that you actually enjoy to send.
3. Practice in every conversation
Every conversation is an opportunity tbe real. That’s why I want you to start ever new convo with the idea to kill your inner people pleaser. No need to beat him into submission, just show him that he’s no longer needed.
How?
Give a little authentic contrast. Consider changing topics, not answering a boring question, giving a different opinion, or saying a (dare I say it) bad word.
You’re not trying to be right or get your way. It’s about teaching yourself that the world doesn’t end when you send an authentic text. Send enough of these messages, and eventually, you’ll start to feel more comfortable about yourself.
4. Apologize less
People pleasers leak apologies everywhere.
“Sorry for the late reply.”
“Sorry for the weird text.”
“Sorry for being terrified to say the wrong thing because I’m afraid of conflict and rejection.”
The last example was a bit overkill, but you get what Im saying. Cut the automatic apologies and keep them for moments that truly need one. The only reason you’re saying sorry is because you’re afraid of being misunderstood and rejected.
Stop apologizing for existing, dude. Get more comfortable with taking up space. You’ll notice that girls will start liking you way more. They don’t need you to be perfect, they just want to feel like they’re chatting with a real person.
5. Stop censoring yourself
You don’t need perfect lines to seduce a woman, you just need authenticity. How do you get there? By asking yourself:
“What would I say if I weren’t trying to be liked?”
When you pause and ask yourself this, a clearer answer usually shows up immediately. It’s the thing you wanted to say before you softened it. Acting on that answer builda confidence. You stop shaping yourself around someone else’s comfort, and start showing up as who you actually are.
Now your texts will automatically start becoming a bit more edgy. It might not be what she’d expected to hear, but it is what she hopes to hear. Because now she realizes she’s talking to a confident guy who might actually be interesting.
6. Practice small boundaries
Sometimes we don’t have the time for seduction. But because we’re so afraid to lose an attractive girl, we make time and get in the way of ourselves. Now we’re stuck sexting at one o’clock at night when we have to get up at six the next morning.
Get used to setting soft boundaries.
“You’re going to have to use your imagination, because I have to go to bed. ;)”
“About to watch a movie with the boys, don’t miss me too hard. ;)”
“Can’t talk, big boy stuff to do. Smell ya later.”
he goal isn’t to push people away, it’s to stop abandoning yourself. Boundaries teach others how to treat you, but more importantly, they teach you how to treat yourself. Each time you hold a small limit, you build more confidence. That confidence is what kills the urge to please, because you stop relying on someone else’s reaction to feel steady.
7. Stay true to how you feel
People pleasing often shows up as giving more energy than the moment actually calls for. You become extra warm, extra enthusiastic, or extra responsive. All because you’re trying to keep the interaction alive or impress the other person.
The problem is that you’re being fake. It’s not how you actually feel, but an attempt to be liked.
Instead, try to stay at the level that feels true for you. If you’re chill, send chill texts. If you’re interested, send an interesting text. If you’re tired and done, don’t send any texts!
This creates a natural, balanced dynamic. And it teaches you that you don’t need to perform to keep someone engaged. Because by giving a little less every now and then, you give your new match a chance to fill up the space you left.
8. Accept that not everyone will like you
This is the hardest part, but also the one that changes everything. People pleasing is fueled by the fear of losing someone’s approval. Once you accept that some people won’t choose you, the entire strategy loses its power. .
You stop chasing perfect responses or perfect timing, and you start choosing honesty over safety. Not everyone needs to like you, and it’s not your job to manage their reactions.
When you make peace with that, your communication becomes quieter, steadier and more grounded. You stop trying to control outcomes, and people sense the difference immediately.
9. Build a fuller life outside the chat
When your sense of worth rests on a conversation, you over-function. You reply too fast, try too hard, and think about the convo even when you’re not texting.
The antidote is simple: live a life that doesn’t revolve around a rando you just matched on Tinder. Spend time on what matters: go to the gym, smash it at work, hang out with friends, read a book, plan a trip with the boys, whatever.
When your world is bigger than the chat box, you naturally start giving less shits about it. The pressure lifts. You show up as a person with standards, not a simp waiting for approval.
10. Let silence do its job
People pleasers hate empty space. They rush to fill it so the other person never feels bored, annoyed or distant. But silence isn’t a threat. It’s just part of a normal conversation.
Let pauses be pauses. Let the other person carry their share.
When you don’t rush to fill every gap, you communicate confidence without texting anything. Silence teaches you that nothing bad happens when you’re not performing. And that people who actually like you will put in effort to keep you engaged.
How to stop people pleasing over text – Conclusion
People pleasing might feel safe, but it comes at a cost. It makes her think you’re like every other Joe Schmo out there. Plus, it turns every conversation into something you’re trying to manage instead of enjoy. If you’re always trying to keep up performances, online dating will feel like work.
Once you stop trying to be nice and start texting from a real place, things get easier. Convos will cost less effort and women will give you better reactions.
You don’t need to make dramatic changes to get there. Just a few honest choices in each conversation are enough. Say what you mean, slow down, set small boundaries and stop apologizing for normal things. Do that, and people pleasing stops being your default. You’ll become the guy who’s real, direct, and comfortable in his own skin. That’s hella attractive.
If you want an easy way to break the people-pleasing habit, start by giving yourself better tools. Not nicer lines, but lines that let your real personality show without you having to overthink every word.
The TextGod Toolkit does exactly that.
You’ll learn how to have more confident convbersations, build a profile that reflects who you actually are, and a method that’ll make your convos feel more alive (rather than polite).
