No Likes on Tinder? This is the Quickest Fix

Are you getting no likes on Tinder?

It can be frustrating, but there are simple fixes that can turn things around. In this guide, we’ll cover the key reasons why your profile might be underperforming and how to make it more attractive to potential matches.

Follow these tips to start seeing better results!

Why are you getting no likes on Tinder?

If you’re not getting likes on Tinder, it could be due to a variety of reasons. Here’s a quick breakdown of why your profile might be underperforming:

  • You’re swiping too much. When you swipe right on everyone, Tinder’s algorithm may think you’re not being genuine or selective. This can lead to your profile being shown less to others, as the app might assume you’re just looking for anything
  • You’ve broken the guidelines. Violating Tinder’s rules, such as inappropriate behavior, could result in your account being flagged or banned.
  • Your distance settings are too small. A narrow distance range limits your potential matches. Try increasing it to get more visibility.
  • You’re not active. Tinder likes to keep its users happy, so if you log in infrequently, your profile might not be shown since the algorithm thinks you might not show them a good time.
  • You’re shadowbanned. If Tinder has flagged your account for suspicious behavior (like repeatedly deleting and remaking your profile), it might hide your profile from other users without notifying you.
  • You have an undesirable profile. A weak bio, low-quality photos, or lack of effort can make your profile unappealing. Revamp it to catch more attention.

Step 1. Become BFFs with the Tinder algorithm

Swipe with purpose

Tinder’s algorithm notices how often you swipe right, and it links this to your standards. If you’re swiping right on every profile, including the ones with just a blank bio and bad photos, it can make you appear either too desperate or like a bot. Stick to profiles you’re genuinely interested in to show you’re selective.

Complete your profile

Tinder loves profiles that are packed with information. If you’re not getting matches, it’s time to fill out all sections: your ‘About Me’, Instagram, and Spotify links can help boost your profile’s visibility.

Super Like your top picks

A Super Like lets Tinder know you’re serious, pushing your profile to the top of someone else’s swipe stack. It’s an easy way to boost your chances of getting noticed.

Reset your profile wisely

Resetting your profile can give it a fresh desirability score, temporarily increasing its visibility. However, don’t overdo it! Resetting too often can lead to penalties, or worse, a ban.

Explore new features

Tinder rewards users who engage with new features, so don’t be afraid to try them out. The more you interact with the app, the more it’ll favor you.

Stay active

The more active you are, the better your chances. Responding quickly to messages and engaging regularly tells Tinder you’re a serious user and keeps your profile visible.

Be online at peak times

Tinder shows profiles higher in the stack when users are active at the same time. Aim to use the app between 6-8 PM when most people are swiping.

Go Premium

While not necessary, upgrading to Tinder Platinum can get you extra visibility. You’ll get features like the ability to message before matching and your likes will get priority.

I don’t get paid a dime to say this, but almost all the people I’ve coached get better results when switching to Premium. Do with that information as you wish.

Step 2. Build a desirable Tinder profile

Start with a portrait

First impressions matter. Your lead photo should be a simple portrait showing your face from just above your head to under your chest.

Smile

A warm, genuine smile has been proven to make you more attractive, even if you’re not the textbook “perfect” match. So flash those teeth!

Limit selfies

Selfies can make you seem narcissistic and less approachable. Stick to natural photos where you show your personality.

Avoid hiding your face

Sunglasses, hats, and helmets can make it seem like you’re hiding something. Let your potential matches see your face clearly.

Use group photos sparingly

Group photos should be used only when it’s easy to pick you out, and you look the best in the group. The “Ugly Friend Effect” can work in your favor here.

Keep it simple

Busy backgrounds distract from the main focus—YOU. Use clean, simple settings for your photos.

Use the right background

A stunning backdrop will automatically make you look better, especially if it’s something appealing like an outdoor scene.

Pets work wonders

A dog in your photo? Instant charm. But only use one if the pet is genuinely yours or part of your life. Authenticity is key.

Show your true self

This is the most important tip of all: your profile should give a glimpse into your lifestyle and what you’re like.

You must show off what makes you, you! If you’re funny, quirky, and big into modern design, then that’s what you need to show in your profile.

Let others pick your best pics

Sometimes we’re too close to our own photos to judge them properly. Ask others to help you pick the ones that stand out most.

Consider a paid photo evaluator

Getting your pictures rated by strangers can give you valuable insights into which ones are the most appealing. Sometimes your best photo might not be what you thought!

Step 3. Craft a Compelling Bio

When your photos have sparked interest, your bio needs to seal the deal. A great bio makes you more interesting and approachable.

“Straight shooter. Can’t resist a bad dad joke. Always looking for the best coffee shop in town. And let’s just say I’m on probation for using the word ‘literally’ too much.”

How interesting is this bio? Doesn’t this instantly make you want to know more about this person? Here’s another example.

Slightly sarcastic. Will debate you about which Harry Potter house is superior. Weekend plans usually involve tacos. And let’s not talk about the time I accidentally spilled coffee on my laptop.

Step 4. Be a Master at Messaging

Message quickly after matching
