Tinder Personality Types: Find Your Perfect Match

You’ve probably seen stuff like ENFP and INTP on Tinder bios and wondered what that stuff meant.

Those are Tinder personality types, and this article will help you decode their exact meaning. You’ll also find out what role they play in creating chemistry and long-lasting attraction.

What do the 4-letter personality descriptions mean?

The 4-letter personality descriptions describe your preferences across four areas. They’re also known as Myers-Briggs personality types and can be broken down as follows:

  • First letter. E (extraversion) or I (introversion). If you get energized around people, you’re an E, and if you recharge by having alone time, you’re an I.
  • Second letter. N (intuition) or S (sensing). If you like to daydream and imagine ‘what if’ scenarios, you’re an N. And if you like to pay a lot of attention to what you can see, touch, and hear right now, you’re an S.
  • Third letter. T (thinking) or F (feeling). If you tend to look at your problems like they’re a math problem, then you’re a T. And if you like to navigate your life as if you’re creating music, you’re an F.
  • Fourth letter. J (judging) or P (perceiving) – If you like to organize and solve puzzles by sorting out all the pieces by color or edges first, you’re a J. And if you enjoy spontaneity and solving puzzles however you like it, you’re a P.

How important is the Myers-Briggs test for dating?

Knowing your Myers-Briggs personality type is useful and can offer some insight into who you might have chemistry with. But it’s unclear how accurate these descriptions are. It’s not uncommon for people to redo the Myers-Briggs test and get different results.

So it’s best not to get too caught up in it.

What should you focus on? Fun!

You don’t need to know someone’s four letters to figure out if they’re fun to talk to. And that’s really all you can hope to find out over Tinder. Leave the rest for your real-life date.

So instead of obsessing about personality types, obsess about your seduction skills. Because that’s what will make girls attracted to you (even if the Myers-Briggs test says you’re not a fit).

Is there a better personality test than Myers-Briggs?

The Myers-Briggs personality test has little scientific findings to back up its statements. So it’s currently based on unproven theories.

Do you want a test that accurately describes someone’s personality?

Take the Big Five personality test.

It will break down who you are into five categories:

  • Openness.
  • Conscientiousness.
  • Extraversion.
  • Agreeableness.
  • Neuroticism.

According to science, someone’s level of openness, extraversion, and agreeableness hugely affects compatibility. The more similar you are on these fronts, the better you can work as a romantic couple.
