What to say when she asks about your body count

Body count questions throw a lot of men off, mostly because they’re scared of saying the wrong thing. This article shows you how to handle the topic in the most attractive way, without lying or performing.

Does your body count matter? What it says about you

Your body count doesn’t define who you are. But it does reveal something about how you’ve looked at women and relationships up until now.

A low number can mean you’re selective and waited for the right people. It can also mean you never got lucky, avoided intimacy and don’t have much experience with women.

A high number might suggest you enjoyed dating and exploring your sexuality. But it can also mean you used sex as a distraction, that you chased validation to correct a lack of self-worth, or that you’re afraid of emotional intimacy.

Why do women ask about your sexual history?

Most women don’t ask about your past to judge you. They’re asking to understand what kind of man you are.

Basically, she’s asking herself these questions:

  1. Are you someone who dates responsibly?
If your past is full of blurry situations: “We never talked about what we were,” “It just faded,” and “I don’t know what happened,” then she reads that as immaturity. You didn’t know what you were doing, it just happened. But if you can explain your past, she sees you’re a mature person.
  2. Are you emotionally available or always keeping things casual?
If all your past experiences were casual, short-lived, or unclear, she wonders:
Are you someone who avoids closeness? Do you lose interest fast?  Do you keep people at arm’s length? These are all potential red flags.
  3. Do you have relationship skills or only hookup skills?
She’s checking if you’ve ever actually built something, not just had sexual encounters.
  4. Can you talk about uncomfortable topics?
She’s wants to know if you can talk about difficult stuff without hiding, dodging, or getting defensive. If you lie or sugarcoat here, she assumes you’ll do it in other parts of the relationship too.
  5. Can you own your past without shame or ego?
If you’re braggy, she sees ego. Are you ashamed and defensive, then she sees insecurity and unresolved pain. But are you calm and open? Then she sees maturity.

What if your number is high or low?

When a woman hears your number, she’s not judging the math. She’s looking at what that number usually says about how you move in dating. And both high and low numbers come with upsides and downsides.

If your number is low

It might mean you’re selective, or you only get close to people you really like. But it can also mean you haven’t dated much, hold back too quickly, or struggle to make a move when you’re interested.

A low body count isn’t bad. It just gives her an idea of what kind of person you might be.

If your number is high

It might mean you’re social, open, and comfortable around women. But it can also mean you avoid commitment, lose interest fast, or jump into things without much thought.

A high number isn’t bad either. It just tells a different story.

How do you talk about your body count? Most important tips

1. Don’t give your number

Giving your number rarely improves the connection. It only creates comparison, guessing and unnecessary tension. A number doesn’t explain your past or what kind of partner you are. It’s just noise.

When she asks, she’s not actually asking for math, she’s asking what your experiences say about you. So ask her what she really wants to know:

“I don’t think numbers say a whole lot. What would you really like to know about me? How I treated the girls I’ve been with?

That answer is grown up and leads the conversation into a healthy direction.

2. Talk about your patterns, not your statistics

She wants to know how you date.

Did you mainly date casually? Were you more relationship-focused? Did you take your time between partners or did you instantly dive into something new?

Whatever your past looked like, talk about the pattern so she can see who you were and who you are now.

That might look something like this: “I’ve had phases. Some were casual, some more serious. And now I’m looking for something [insert your view].” That tells her more than any number ever could.

3. Give her enough info but not too much

Honesty doesn’t mean telling every detail. Oversharing doesn’t build trust, it stresses people out. And hiding things makes you look sketchy.

The sweet spot is simple: simplified honesty.

If your dating life was chaotic, say so. If you kept things casual, say so. If you avoided commitment, own it. If you were slow to make moves, be open about that too. Real honesty lands better than perfect wording.

4. Talk about where you’re at now

Most women ask because they want to understand who you are now, not who you were ten or five years ago. So don’t get lost in what’s happened. Bring the focus back to who you are today.

Most people make a mess of their love lives when they’re in their early 20s. That’s kinda part of it. Hardly anyone is compassionate and mature from the start. So if you treated your lovers and partners a little poorly when you were young, that’s okay. It’s normal.

What matters is how you show up now.

What are the ways in which you’re a bit difficult? This answer is more important to her than any number. She just wants to know what kind of treatment she can expect from you.

5. Share what you’ve learned

There’s no perfect answer, and there’s no healthy script to copy. The only answer that works is the one that actually matches your life.

Ask yourself what your past honestly says about you.

Maybe it was wild. Maybe it was quiet. Maybe you avoided dating. Maybe you jumped in too fast. Whatever it was, speak from that place. Women aren’t looking for the polished version of you. They’re listening for a guy who isn’t afraid to be real about where he’s coming from.

6. Be ready to accept her answer

Here’s the truth nobody likes to say out loud: whatever you tell her might change how she sees you. And that’s not a failure, that’s how adults date. You’re giving real information, and she’s allowed to decide what that means for her. The same way you judge whether someone fits your life, she gets to do the same.

So don’t look for what she might want to here. Answer because it’s who you are, and let her have her reaction. Even if that means turning her off.

What to say about your body count – Conclusion

Talking about your sexual history isn’t about giving the perfect answer. It’s about being clear on who you are, what your past actually looked like and how you want to show up now.

There’s no winning number, no magic sentence and no expert-approved script that makes someone like you more. You speak your truth, she makes her choice and you make yours. That’s how real connection works. If you can stay authentic without being a douche (and trying to manage her reactions) you’re giving her a chance to choose the real you, instead of the performative you.

That’s the secret to being a cool and attractive dude that gets girls. Want more golden tips like this? Grab my free TextGod Toolkit. Inside you’ll find my best lines and techniques to seduce her over text.
